Condensation test: how well is your product resistant to high humidity

This condensation test provides insight into your product’s resistance to rain, dew and other moisture within weeks. This test effectively simulates the result of years of exposure to moisture.

We perform the condensation test as standard according to ISO 6270 and DIN 50017. This test is part of the ISO 12944.

How does the condensation test work?

The condensation test has several variations:

  • Part 1: Single-sided exposure;
  • Part 2: Full exposure (in climatic chamber).

In addition, Part 2 has three sub-variants, namely: CH, AT and AHT (see table to the right).

After testing, we assess the coating for blistering, rusting and other defects.

Reporting and advice

Within five working days of completing the condensation test, you will receive a report with the results. It may be that after reading the report you still need advice to improve the quality of the product.
