Chemical resistance test: how do chemicals affect your product?

The Chemical Resistance Test is for products that come into contact with chemical liquids. There are many different situations where liquids are used, including alcohol, spirit, brake fluid, hydrochloric acid or caustic soda.

How does the chemical resistance test work?

There are two different procedures:

  1. We immerse the product or test panel in the respective liquid. We keep the temperature and circulation of the liquid constant. Upon completion of the test, we determine the influence of the liquid on the material under test. We then pay attention to blistering, discoloration or detachment of the surface;
  2. We place a cotton ball soaked with the test liquid on your product. We place this assembly at a constant temperature under a cover glass. After a predetermined time, we see how the liquid affects the material under test. In this test we pay attention to discoloration of the surface.

Reporting and advice

Within five working days of completing the chemical resistance test, you will receive a report with the results. After reading the report, you may still need advice on how to improve the quality of the product.
